What to Do When You Disagree with the Amount Charged for Consumed Gas: Ombudsman

The Human Rights Defender has published a guide regarding the rights and obligations of consumers in the gas supply sector.

The guide has been prepared based on observations from the Defender’s Office, as well as the results of analyzing petitions and complaints addressed to the Defender.

In particular, the guide addresses the following key questions:

  • How can a subscriber of the gas supply company get answers to their questions?
  • Does the gas supply company have an obligation to respond to the subscriber's inquiries?
  • Where is the electricity meter installed?
  • Under what circumstances does the supplier have the right to interrupt or suspend the subscriber's gas supply?
  • What rights does the supplier have in case of non-payment by the subscriber?
  • What to do when you disagree with the invoices presented by the gas supplier?
  • What to do when the commercial metering device seems questionable?
  • How to file a complaint about the actions of the gas supply company?
  • In which cases will the Human Rights Defender consider the issue and who can appeal to the Defender?

You can familiarize yourself with the guide here.
