Necessary Procedures for the Extradition of Mihran Poghosyan to Armenia Are Being Implemented
The Office of the General Prosecutor of Armenia is carrying out the necessary procedures for the extradition of former MP and former head of the State Revenue Committee, Mihran Poghosyan, to the law enforcement agencies of Armenia.
This was stated by Aravik Khachatryan, head of the Public Relations Department of the Office of the General Prosecutor of Armenia, in a conversation with Tert.am.
“The necessary procedures are underway for the process of handing over Mihran Poghosyan to the competent authorities of Armenia. Currently, the package of documents required for this is being prepared and will be submitted to the Russian side by the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia within the stipulated time frame,” Khachatryan told the media.
It’s worth noting that Mihran Poghosyan has been charged under the second part of Article 308 and the first point of the third part of Article 179 of the Criminal Code of Armenia in connection with a criminal case being investigated by the Special Investigative Service. He is accused of committing socially dangerous acts by misusing his official position to embezzle property on a particularly large scale and abusing his official powers, which resulted in serious consequences. The court has made a decision to detain him, and a search warrant has been issued.
