My Step MP Comments on Brother Organizing International Marijuana Day

"My principle is that I do not want to identify with the thoughts expressed by my relatives; they are free to make their decisions. I am neutral and distant from that theme. Our family is large; my mother has a different perspective, and the other one has another. Not only on that issue but also on political views," said Nikolay Baghdasaryan, a member of the My Step parliamentary faction, today in the National Assembly, referring to the International Marijuana Day celebrated by a group of people in Armenia, attended by his brother.

When asked if he has ever used marijuana, the MP replied negatively. Regarding the legalization of marijuana use, the MP stated that different countries have different situations—there are places where it is openly used, while in some areas the death penalty is a threat.

"This issue needs to be studied deeply, and the right answer must be given. For example, in the USA, many of my friends use marijuana; it is acceptable there. But I would feel dissonance, for example, if I know that my child has approached it," the MP stated.
