Car Falls into Gorge in Tavush Region, Driver Dies at the Scene
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has opened a criminal case under Article 242, Part 3 of the RA Criminal Code in connection with a car accident that occurred in Tavush region.
According to Shamshyan.com, the case was initiated due to an accident that took place on April 12. On that day, around noon, 70-year-old Anatoly Avalyan, a resident of Movses village, lost control of his VAZ 2121 vehicle with license plate 34 ZT 699, veering off the busy part of the road and rolling about 60 meters into a gorge.
As a result of the accident, A. Avalyan died at the scene, while his passenger, 61-year-old Shushan Mkrtumyan, a fellow villager, was transported to the Berd hospital of the Ministry of Defense with bodily injuries. Unfortunately, Sh. Mkrtumyan did not regain consciousness in the hospital and also passed away.
