Collapse in Malatia-Sebastia Administrative District

On April 20, an emergency situation arose in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan. At approximately 12:35 PM, the emergency hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report indicating that the bank of the canal adjacent to apartment buildings number 66 and 68 on Ohanovi Street had collapsed, causing water to overflow onto the road and residential area.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the area is already hazardous, and if the relevant authorities do not resolve the issue promptly and fail to install barriers along the side of the metal section of the canal, the problem can be deemed unresolved.
