Seventh Explosion Hits Sri Lanka

A seventh explosion has occurred near Colombo, Sri Lanka, where the zoo is located. According to preliminary reports, there are 2 fatalities.

The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka condemned today’s attacks on 3 churches and 3 hotels in the country, which, according to current data, have claimed the lives of more than 160 people. It is worth noting that earlier today, during Easter celebrations, six explosions erupted in different parts of the country, with unofficial reports indicating that the death toll exceeds 160, while the number of injured is estimated to be between 300 and 400.

Currently, the government is holding an extraordinary meeting under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Local News 1 channel reports that the death toll from the terrorist attacks has reached 185, including 35 foreign nationals. According to preliminary data, they are citizens of the USA, Britain, and the Netherlands.

The explosions occurred at 8:45 AM local time (7:15 AM Yerevan time) and were carried out by suicide bombers.

The attacks targeted St. Anthony's Church in Colombo, as well as two churches in the suburbs of Negombo and the Shangri-La, Kingsbury, and Cinnamon Grand hotels located in the capital.
