Attempted Suicide of 19-Year-Old Girl Averted

SHAMSHYAN.com reports that on April 19, officers from the 2nd platoon of the police's special patrol service in Yerevan were approached by several citizens during their service, who informed them that a girl had crossed the dangerous edge of the Kiev Bridge and was threatening to jump off.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the police swiftly approached the bridge and engaged in prolonged negotiations with the girl to dissuade her from her intention. The police succeeded in saving her life, after which she was taken to the police division in Mashtots.

According to G. Shamshyan, she is 19-year-old M.V. from the Ararat region, who expressed that she wanted to take her own life due to personal issues. An investigation is currently being prepared by the Mashtots police department.
