Criminal Case Launched Over Incident Involving Relatives of Lyova Yeranosyan

A criminal case has been initiated regarding an incident involving the relatives of former commander of the RA Police Internal Troops, Lyova Yeranosyan, which occurred on April 7 on Komitas Avenue. This information was confirmed in a conversation with NEWS.am by the RA Prosecutor General’s Office.

The criminal case was opened under Article 118 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to the act of beating.

Earlier, the police had informed NEWS.am that at 10:05 PM on April 7, they received a report from a citizen stating that a dispute had occurred in the yard of their building on Komitas Avenue, after which they were assaulted with kicks and punches.

According to G. Shamshyan, the assaulted citizen is 34-year-old Georgi Gharibyan, who informed the police that he was beaten by Khachik Yeranosyan, the son of former commander of police troops, Major General Levon Yeranosyan, and his son-in-law, Zhora Sarukhanyan.

The citizen reported that he was attacked on the orders of Levon Yeranosyan and that Yeranosyan himself was a witness to the whole incident.
