Will There Be a 'New Spayka' or Will Procurement Issues Arise? Fact
The newspaper 'Fact' writes: 'In recent days, the processes surrounding one of the key players in Armenia's economy, the company 'Spayka', have been at the center of public attention. The authorities have been openly "attacking" the company, resulting in the arrest of Spayka's owner and director, David Ghazaryan.
This was followed by a statement from the company indicating that procurement processes will not be conducted in 80 communities across Armenia. In reality, the population is facing serious issues related to procurement, while the authorities are throwing information that new companies conducting procurements have already appeared on the market.
It is clear that this is being done with the aim of demonstrating to the public that 'Spayka' is not irreplaceable, that there is nothing to worry about, and that a 'new Spayka' or even 'new Spaykas' will quickly emerge in the market.
However, the fact is that one of the mentioned companies exists only on paper, and it is unknown what kind of structure it represents or what potential it has, while the other company is not a 'newcomer' per se, but it practically lacks the capability to organize concurrent large-scale procurements due to its very small fleet of vehicles.'
