Suren Papikyan Hosts Arzhvashen Residents

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Development, Suren Papikyan, today hosted residents of Arzhvashen. The Governor of Gegharkunik Province, Gnel Sanosyan, was also present at the meeting.

Listening to the concerns and issues of the Arzhvashen residents, Minister Suren Papikyan emphasized that the government does not question the special status of the Arzhvashen residents due to their forced displacement following military operations on August 8, 1992.

At the same time, the minister announced that within the framework of subsidy programs in the Chambarak community, works aimed at improving social and economic infrastructure will be carried out at the expense of state funds. A program to enhance seismic safety includes plans to build a new N1 primary school in the community, where a technical assessment of the building is currently underway.

Taking into account citizens' concerns regarding dilapidated housing in the community, the minister instructed the governor to form a working group that will study the social and housing conditions of Arzhvashen residents living in Chambarak and will inventory the homes in need of reinforcement.
