State of Emergency at Salt Mine

The employees of the salt mine are staging a protest. They have descended into the mine shaft and are refusing to come out. The workers are boycotting their jobs and are on strike.

In an interview with Armdaily.am, workers who remained above ground stated that they are demanding a salary increase and are prepared to paralyze work until their voices are heard. They insist that their wages are extremely low: 'We perform high-risk work all day and receive only 50,000 drams monthly. We risk our lives every day and are unable to support our families,' they mentioned during the interview.

Previously, the employees had appealed to the government and even staged a protest near the executive body, but their grievances have gone unheard.
