Woman with Disability Has Money Refunded by Hospital
A woman with a disability called the Human Rights Defender's hotline at 116 and reported that she was charged and paid money for necessary services at a regional medical center, disregarding her disability status.
According to the woman, a surgeon demanded the payment, justifying it by saying that she had not presented a referral for medical assistance and services.
In response to the raised issue, a representative of the Human Rights Defender's Office contacted the director of the medical center, and as a result, the paid amount was refunded to the citizen.
