Violation at Eurofootball Betting Company: State Suffered Damage
In the framework of the criminal case under investigation by the Investigative Department of the State Revenue Committee, and based on sufficient factual data obtained through investigative and other procedural actions in collaboration with the Information Technology Department, a charge has been filed against Armenian citizen S.A. for committing a socially dangerous act defined by the first part of the third clause of Article 188 (Illegal Entrepreneurship) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The state has suffered damages amounting to 1 billion drams.
Specifically, S.A. is accused of operating as the director of the betting company 'Eurofootball', which is considered a totalizator type lottery organizer, from November 2018 to the present, without having the special permit (license) required for conducting activities subject to licensing under Article 43 of the Licensing Law of the Republic of Armenia. Furthermore, S.A. avoided paying the state duty amounting to 500,000 times the basic tax as set forth in Article 19 of the Law on State Duties, by allegedly organizing and conducting lotteries and Internet gambling under the name of 'Efusofth LLC', which holds license No. 1668/JAZ issued by the Gaming Commission of Curaçao, Netherlands. As a result, the state has suffered particularly large property damage totaling 1 billion drams.
