Photo: Pothole Repair Works Underway on Republic's Roads

The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of the Republic of Armenia reports that as of April 1, the summer maintenance period has commenced for inter-state and republican highways. During this period, pothole repair, crack sealing, shoulder filling and leveling, cleaning of side ditches, landscaping, restoration of safety elements, cleaning of artificial structures, and marking works are being carried out by 34 contracting organizations responsible for road maintenance in 38 regions of the republic.

Considering that significant potholes form on the roads after the end of winter, priority is given to pothole repairs, followed by operational maintenance.

Due to weather conditions, this year pothole repair works have begun in 17 regions so far. The start is expected for the other regions between April 10-15. The pothole repairs on inter-state roads are scheduled to be completed by the end of April, while those on republican highways are planned for completion between May 15-20.
