Inspections Underway at a Gas Station Owned by Tsarukyan
Last week, reports of rising gas prices at several gas filling stations sparked discussions, with many linking this to the Government's decision to sell gas by the kilogram.
In an interview with ArmDaily.am, Armen Kotozyan, head of the Market Regulation Inspection Body, stated that the gas prices have not changed. "There has been no tax change, nor has 'Gazprom' provided information on changes in gas prices to operators. This is merely unscrupulous behavior on the part of the operators,” he noted.
Kotozyan mentioned that operators are making violations regarding gas density. "Operators must specify the correct density of gas in their program changes. They indicate a lower density to achieve a greater output, causing the consumer to pay a bit more," he explained.
When asked by the media if they had received complaints about the operations of gas stations owned by Gagik Tsarukyan and whether there had been any violations recorded there, Kotozyan responded, "Yes, there have been complaints. Inspections are currently underway at one of the gas stations owned by Gagik Tsarukyan."
Regarding the specific complaints received, Armen Kotozyan said, "There was a complaint stating that gas was filled, but the driver did not drive as far as he should have after fueling. For instance, if after refueling the driver was supposed to drive 150 km, he only drove 130 km."
