Some Circles Misrepresent Part of My Interview Out of Context: Anna Hakobyan
The wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Anna Hakobyan, has responded to criticisms regarding certain statements made during her interview.
“Dear ones,
I was informed that some circles in Armenia are misrepresenting a part of my interview with Voice of America, taking it out of context, and attributing to me the thought that our casualties in the war were meaningless.
In the same interview and in others I gave to Armenian media and two American television channels, I repeatedly stated that the call of the "Women for Peace" campaign is to maintain peace and save the lives of our young soldiers.
However, I also mentioned that if a war breaks out, not only my son serving in the Artsakh Defense Army will be at the front lines, but I am also prepared to take up arms and defend the homeland.
This implies that I am also ready to DIE FOR THE HOMELAND.
So how can I declare that until now our casualties have been meaningless?
My visit to the United States is taking place with an unprecedented agenda, reception, and results, and I anticipate that there will be many attempts to smear this visit. But I want to believe that the Armenian media, which have correspondents in the U.S., report on the atmosphere accompanying the visit,” she wrote.
