21-Year-Old Man Who Drank Vinegar Transferred to Yerevan

A 21-year-old man who drank a large amount of vinegar in an attempt to end his life was transferred yesterday from the Gyumri Medical Center to the Armenia Medical Center. The deputy director of the Gyumri Medical Center, Armen Khachatryan, informed SHANTNEWS.am that the young man’s condition is assessed as critical.

“The patient stayed with us for several hours, and everything possible was done to save his life, including performing artificial respiration. He was conscious at one point, but later we transferred him to Yerevan,” Khachatryan told the news outlet.

It is reported that the young man is a resident of the Meghrasheni village in the Shirak province, who on April 5 drank a significant amount of vinegar intending to commit suicide. After some time, he regretted his decision and called for an ambulance. It was with the ambulance that he was taken to the intensive care unit of the Gyumri Medical Center.

Before his suicide attempt, the young man also left a couplet at his workplace, the contents of which have not been disclosed.
