Shooting in Yerevan: MoD Commander Hospitalized

Shooting was reported in Yerevan today. At around 08:10 AM, the Malatya police department received a call about gunshots fired in the courtyard of building 90 on Andranik Street in the South-Western district, indicating that there was an injured person.

According to shamshyan.com, investigators are currently examining the crime scene. Law enforcement officials found two bullet casings fired from a firearm on the first floor of the mentioned building. It was also revealed that a resident of the building, Joni Samsonyan, was transported to the 'Astghik' medical center with gunshot wounds to his leg.

According to G. Shamshyan, the injured commander works in one of the military units of the Ministry of Defense. The commander, who sustained gunshot wounds, reportedly disarmed the shooter himself, who has since been taken to the Malatya police department.

For the purposes of the investigation, the identity of the shooter is not being disclosed at this time.
