Compressed Gas for Vehicles Significantly Increased in Price
The publication "Zhoghovurd" received reports from drivers yesterday that most of the gas stations operating in Armenia have transitioned to selling natural gas by kilogram as of April 1, following a newly adopted regulation. As a result, the price of compressed natural gas intended for vehicle operation has increased.
Typically, gas is weighed in kilograms at gas filling towers, while at charging points it is sold by cubic meter. According to experts, if a vehicle is filled according to cubic meters at high temperatures, it will be filled with a greater volume but a smaller mass.
However, when switched to kilograms, it will be measured by weight regardless of the volume.
The government has also established regulations to protect drivers' rights via the Tax Code, stipulating that henceforth liquefied gas will be sold by kilogram, resulting in drivers facing prices approximately 40% higher for 1 kilogram of gas.
