Direct Protest Action in Front of the Government: Demands for Resignation of Culture Minister

Employees of the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet are staging a protest in front of the Government, demanding the annulment of a directive from Nazeni Ghahramanyan, the acting Minister of Culture, regarding the dismissal of the theatre's director, Konstantin Orbelian. They also call for the dismissal of Ghahramanyan.

The reasons cited for this dismissal include disrespect towards culture and its figures, as well as issuing instructions and directives that contradict the law.

It should be noted that recently, Konstantin Orbelian was removed from the position of director of the theatre by a decree from Nazeni Ghahramanyan but remains as the artistic director. Orbelian has stated that he will leave the theatre altogether if that is the case.
