Three Victims Reported in Turkey's Local Elections: Expert

Today, local government elections are being held in Turkey.

According to Turkish expert Varuzhan Geghamyan, the elections are taking place in a highly tense atmosphere, as evidenced by the already registered two casualties resulting from disputes at polling stations.

It is noteworthy that there are over 57 million voters across 81 provinces. Candidates represent 12 political parties.

Later, the expert added, “Three victims have already been reported in Turkey's local elections. Preliminary data indicates that a relative of the ruling AK Party candidate attacked members of the Saadet Party.”

The elections have concluded, and results will be known tonight. In total, there have been an unprecedented four casualties and 73 injuries registered. Stay tuned, especially for the outcomes from Ankara and Istanbul.

40% of the ballot boxes have already been opened. It appears the opposition is winning in the capital Ankara, as well as in the third and fourth largest cities, Izmir and Adana. However, this could still change. We will follow the developments.
