Residents of Ejmiatsin in Panic, Says Diana Gasparyan
In Ejmiatsin, an inexplicable odor has spread, causing panic among the residents. This was reported by the mayor of Ejmiatsin, Diana Gasparyan, via a Facebook post, urging citizens not to panic as experts in chemistry have confirmed that there are no dangerous gases or other substances present in the atmosphere.
“Currently, an unusual and seemingly chemical odor has spread across the city, particularly in certain areas, which has caused panic among the residents.
I want to inform you that I have immediately contacted the relevant authorities to clarify the causes, and it has been established that according to studies conducted so far, the source of the strange smell is not located within the territory of Ejmiatsin (the preliminary hypothesis suggests that the odor is being carried by the wind from the vicinity of the city of Masis), and no incidents have occurred in the city.
Moreover, specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia have already checked for the presence of dangerous chemical elements in the air and found that there are no gases or other substances present in the environment that pose a threat to life or health.
Therefore, dear fellow citizens, there is no need to be worried or, especially, to panic. Everything is under control, and that smell that concerns us all will be gone soon,” wrote Diana Gasparyan.
