Opera Theater Staff to Appeal to Prime Minister

On March 30, 2019, at 16:00, a gathering was held in the auditorium of the A. Spendiarian National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, attended by theater workers, composers, theater figures, directors of theaters and museums, researchers, members of the Armenian diaspora, and simply spectators. They decided to appeal to the Prime Minister of Armenia, N. Pashinyan, with the following requests:

1. To cancel the order issued by the acting Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia concerning the dismissal of the opera theater's director, K. Orbelyan.
2. To dismiss N. Gharibyan, the acting Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, for showing disrespect towards culture and its figures, as well as for issuing unlawful directives and orders.

The participants of the gathering also decided to convene at 10 a.m. on April 1, 2019, in front of the Government Building of the Republic of Armenia to present this demand to the Prime Minister.
