Snow and Ice on Armenian Roads: Emergency Situations Ministry Issues Warning

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia has reported that as of March 29, at 19:50, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across the country.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for cargo trucks and difficult to navigate for passenger vehicles.

The Dilijan mountain passes are closed for trucks with trailers.

The Sotk-Karvachar road is difficult to navigate due to ice.

Snowfall is reported in Lori and Shirak provinces, as well as in Dilijan, Berd in Tavush province, Martuni, Gavar, Sevan, Chambarak in Gegharkunik province, Goris, Kajaran city and Gorayk village in Syunik province, in the area known as “Meghru Mountain”, and in Ararat and Aragatsotn regions (ice).

In Goris city in Syunik province and along the Lanjik-Mastara road in Shirak province, fog is also reported.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
