Liberalization of the Import and Sale of Cash Registers

The Head of the State Revenue Committee, Davit Ananyan, presented draft decisions regarding the liberalization of the import, sale, and technical maintenance of cash registers during a government meeting today, outlining the regulations for technical maintenance.

Ananyan noted that according to one of the preliminary provisions of the decision, the operations of the State Revenue Committee will be limited to providing free cash registers to border settlements and ensuring their technical maintenance.

Another draft proposes to remove the regulations related to the purchase and sale process of cash registers by the State Revenue Committee. Ananyan mentioned that they are proposing to review and invalidate a number of technical requirements for cash registers that are outdated for the new generation of devices.

"Essentially, we are liberalizing the import, sale, and technical maintenance of cash registers, reducing and modernizing their technical requirements, and fully liberalizing the sector," he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan also remarked that this has been one of the sensitive issues that have received complaints from time to time.
