Government Tightens Restrictions on Advertising Gambling, Online Gambling, Casinos, Lotteries, and Totalizators

During today's government session, it was decided to expand the legislative restrictions on advertising gambling, online gambling, casinos, lotteries, and totalizators, and to impose fines for violations amounting to 1000 times the minimum wage.

The draft decision was presented to the government by the Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan.

"We have had an opportunity to discuss this issue during a government session once before. During the National Assembly session, essentially, the initiative was presented in the same manner, and the proposals were consistent in content with those we had previously submitted," said Janjughazyan.

The legislative tightening pertains to the advertising of gambling, online gambling, casinos, lotteries, and totalizators through television, radio, and the internet.

Advertising is prohibited on youth, educational, medical, and social websites.

According to the decision, advertisements for lotteries can only be conducted on news websites during the period from 24:00 to 06:00.

The project was adopted unanimously.
