«No Stake Involved»: Vanetsyan Denies Allegations Related to Modus Grano Holding Inspections

The Director of the National Security Service (NSS) Arthur Vanetsyan has refuted claims published in the newspaper "Zhamanak" that he is behind the inspections at Modus Grano Holding.

According to a statement released by the NSS, it reads:

"Your newspaper and website have published a news piece titled 'No Stake Involved,' which is misinformation, has no connection to reality, and contains defamatory information.

Article 1087.1, part 3 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia defines defamation as the public presentation of factual data about a person that do not correspond to reality and tarnish their honor, dignity, or business reputation.

Moreover, according to Article 8, part 1 of the Law on Mass Media of the Republic of Armenia, 'A person has the right to demand the media entity to refute inaccuracies that violate their rights if the media cannot prove that the facts align with reality.'

I hereby categorically deny the content presented in the article regarding NSS Director A. Vanetsyan and, in accordance with Article 8 of the Law on Mass Media, I request the publication of a refutation. Additionally, I inform you that if the aforementioned information is not refuted in due course, we will seek other legal remedies in accordance with Armenian legislation.

I would also like to add that we are open to working with the press and that whenever publishing any material related to the NSS's activities, you can always verify the official opinion and position of the agency on the matter for a comprehensive picture.

It should be reminded that "Zhamanak" has reported: 'Employees from the Police's 6th Department are conducting inspections at Modus Grano Holding, which owns the Armash Flour Mill and processing plants for stone and perlite. Alongside the police, the Operational Intelligence Department of the State Revenue Committee is also carrying out inspections at the company. According to our information, Arthur Vanetsyan, the NSS Director, is behind these inspections and essentially the persecution, with historical experience suggesting that the aim of such coercive measures is one: to seize someone else's property by entering a business.'
