Mother of March 1 Victim David Petrosyan Attempts Self-Immolation

An extraordinary incident occurred in the Lori Province on March 28. According to Shamshyan.com, in the afternoon, police officers on duty at Hayk Square in Vanadzor noticed a woman sitting on the steps with a photo in her hand. Upon approaching her, the police officers also noticed a glass container and a lighter nearby.

It was revealed that the woman is the mother of David Petrosyan, one of the victims from March 1, who demanded a meeting with Lori Governor Andrey Ghukasian, threatening self-immolation if her request was not met.

As a result of negotiations led by the head of the Lori Regional Police Department, Gevorg Hakobyan, and the head of the Vanadzor Teron Police Department, Vazgen Torosyan, the woman chose not to take that extreme step.

Learning about the situation, the Lori governor approached them and subsequently ascended to his office to understand the underlying reasons for the woman's drastic action.
