Ministry of Health Appeals to Citizens of Armenia
The Ministry of Health of Armenia appeals to the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
“For years, a number of vaccine-preventable diseases such as polio, diphtheria, tetanus, measles, and rubella have not been recorded in the Republic of Armenia. It is noteworthy that at this very moment, Europe is experiencing a measles outbreak, with over fifty deaths reported, while there are no cases in Armenia thanks to the successful vaccination process in our country. The world is also witnessing resurgences of diphtheria outbreaks, accompanied by fatalities.
The Ministry of Health strongly condemns any attempt to destabilize the country’s epidemiological situation. The circulating misinformation and rumors can foster an atmosphere of fear and distrust among the population, which is fraught with serious consequences and can jeopardize the stable epidemiological situation achieved over many years, thereby threatening the health of every child and individual.
Based on the above, the Ministry of Health expresses its concern regarding this situation and calls for an end to the unnecessary exploitation of vaccinations, including against human papillomavirus, and to initiate a constructive process based on evidence-based medical data.
REMEMBER: WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH.
