Two Criminal Cases Opened Regarding Incident at Meghri Military Unit

The Goris Prosecutor Sergey Khachatryan has announced that two criminal cases have been initiated concerning the incident that occurred at one of the military units of the Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Defense located in the Meghri area. This was reported by Arevik Khachatryan, the head of the Public Relations Department of the RA Prosecutor General's Office.

It is recalled that recently, military personnel at one of the Meghri military units voluntarily left the base in a sign of protest. Following this, a group of servicemen was transferred to disciplinary units in Kapan and then Stepanakert on March 17, from where they were subsequently taken to the front line. According to the battalion commanders, the servicemen suspected of organizing this mass action have regularly exhibited non-regulatory behavior. Parents claim that the incident occurred due to the actions of an officer.
