The Shoe Store in the Famous «Prospect» Underpass Robbed
Today, March 27, another theft incident occurred in Yerevan. At around 09:00, a 60-year-old resident of Yerevan, Gagik Alaverdyan, an engineer-inventor by profession, alerted the Central Police Department, reporting that the glass of the shoe store located in the underpass at 3 Mashtots Avenue, which he rents, had been broken and items were stolen from there.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the shoes that were stolen were not cheap; only expensive items were taken. Currently, police officers and investigators are waiting for forensic experts to arrive.
Speaking with the photojournalist, the workers in the underpass said, “This is not the first incident. It has become a common occurrence. Every morning we come and see that no theft has occurred, we go to Saint Sargis, light candles, and then start our daily work. We hope that at least this case will be solved and the perpetrator or perpetrators will be identified.”
Shamshyan also reports that the moment of the theft was recorded on video, and if the Central Police take it seriously, then “the elusive shoe thieves will be identified.”
