Government to Allocate an Additional 10 Billion for Subsidized Projects, Says Pashinyan
The government of Armenia will allocate an additional 10 billion drams for the implementation of subsidized projects. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a session of the National Assembly.
According to him, these are programs that are implemented in cooperation with communities and local self-government bodies. “Last year we were also prepared to allocate 10 billion drams for the subsidy, but it turned out that communities were not ready to spend that much money, as they did not have that many programs. Subsidized projects are those in which part of the funding comes from the government and the other part from the communities,” Pashinyan explained.
He emphasized that despite the government's readiness to allocate 10 billion drams for the development of infrastructure in communities last year, they managed to save significant funds and spent only 1.6 billion drams for those purposes.
The head of the government also expressed hope that this year they would be able to fully spend 10 billion drams for the needs of the communities, and as a result of targeted spending of these funds, citizens would be able to feel quite specific positive changes.
