This is Absurd: Either They Are Targeting Me or That Person, Says Shop Owner on Scandal with Lori Governor

“I don’t know if the governor has entered my shop as our citizen or not, but I know that such an incident has never happened regarding whether or not we issued a cash register receipt. Clearly, we do issue receipts and don’t issue them, but such an incident certainly hasn’t occurred,” said Aramais Ghazaryan, director of the ‘Vitamin’ shop in Vanadzor, commenting on a report from ‘Haykakan Jamanak’ stating that the governor was not given a cash register receipt in their shop. He also expressed his frustration, stating, “Governor, I agree that we have committed a violation, but why didn’t you issue a cash register receipt when I paid 1 million drams for fixing my wife’s teeth a few months ago?”

“I am ready to show pictures of my wife’s teeth, and my own as well, take them and publish them; let the people know, this is absurd. Either they are working on me or on that person… how could I spend 1 million drams on dental work? My wife’s teeth are her natural, completely healthy teeth…” said the director, noting that what insults him is not the published article but the attempt to label him as someone who accepts bribes. “I fight for my name, not for the governor; I fight for accuracy,” he emphasized.

When asked whether there had been any tax inspections at his shop in recent times, he responded, “When there were the latest inspections, the governor was not there; it was the deputy governor. They came and fined me for having one unregistered employee; we registered them, and they left. If they had come because of the governor’s call, they would have fined me in billions, and they would have left if it were a phone call…” The director reiterated that his wife’s dental work was not done at the governor’s dental clinic or anywhere else.

Lori Governor Andrey Gukasyan told ‘Haykakan Jamanak’ that he has never interacted with the individual in question and that the person’s wife has never been treated at his dental clinic.
