Inmate Tries to Commit Suicide for the Second Time at Vanadzor Prison

According to Shamshyan.com, a suicide attempt took place in the "Vanadzor" penitentiary facility of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia the day before yesterday.

The media outlet reports that the staff at Vanadzor Prison prevented the suicide attempt of 28-year-old Gor Manucharyan. The staff noticed that in quarantine cell number 1, Gor Manucharyan attempted to hang himself by tying a rope around his neck. Fortunately, the prison staff was able to act in time and saved his life.

Gor Manucharyan had also attempted suicide on March 22, which was again thwarted by the prison staff.

According to information from the photojournalist, Gor Manucharyan is charged under parts 2 and 4 of Article 175, Article 178, and part 1 of Article 324 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. His detention began on March 18, 2018.
