Did the company belonging to Eduard Aghajanyan's family fail to provide receipts? Clarification from the State Revenue Committee

Today, we have about 51,000 cash register devices (CRDs), of which 13,000 are old-generation devices, but these numbers change daily. This was stated by the head of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), Davit Ananyan, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly on March 25.

Referring to media reports suggesting that the company "Zigzag," linked to the family of the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, Eduard Aghajanyan, also does not provide receipts to customers, which has resulted in penalties from the SRC, Davit Ananyan said: "I understand your professional desire to see sensationalism in everything. There is no such sensation. ‘Zigzag’ behaves like a law-abiding taxpayer. Through various discussions and direct communications with representatives of ‘Zigzag,’ we know that the management has also required their staff to provide receipts.”

He emphasized that there can be various reasons for not providing receipts, for instance, a technical malfunction at that moment. "If an inspector checks and receipts are not provided, it should be recorded. However, it is another matter that arguments can be presented to the appeal commission that can be taken into account by the SRC,” he noted.

Davit Ananyan mentioned that in the event of a first failure to provide a receipt, there is no penalty but rather a warning. When asked about the fact that in the case of ‘Zigzag’ this is not the first instance that leads to penalties, he responded, "Probably."
