Businesses Owned by Samvel Aleksanyan Paid More Taxes in 2018, Says David Ananyan
Businesses owned by Samvel Aleksanyan paid significantly more in taxes in 2018 compared to previous years. This was stated by the head of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), David Ananyan, during a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly on March 25.
“Due to considerations for a more transparent operation and following sector discussions, they have segmented their business. This means that if a single economic entity engages in different activities, the business is now separated by sectors,” said the SRC head, adding that as a result, they operate more transparently and pay more taxes.
Earlier, the SRC published a list of the top 1000 large taxpayers, according to which the well-known businessman and former MP Samvel Aleksanyan's company, Alex Holding, sharply reduced its tax revenues in 2018. Specifically, while in 2017 he paid 21.5 billion dram in taxes and held the 4th position, in 2018 he paid only 16.2 billion dram in taxes (6th position). The difference amounted to 5.3 billion dram (24.6 percent).
