Parliament Staff Clarifies Issue Regarding Cleaners' Salaries

The National Assembly's staff has provided clarification regarding the salaries of cleaners working in the parliament.

According to the press service of the National Assembly, on December 11, 2018, a contract was signed between the former staff of the National Assembly and "Cleaners" LLC, under which the contractor assumed the obligation to provide internal sanitation cleaning services. A total of 63 cleaners are employed in the National Assembly, of which 40 work for 2 hours daily from 07:00 to 09:00, receiving a salary of 89,950 drams. Additionally, 23 cleaners work from 09:00 to 18:00, earning the same amount.

The current contracts of the cleaners will expire on March 31 of this year, of which they were duly notified on February 19, along with the arrangement to sign an employment contract with a private company. "Cleaners" LLC is obliged to hire the cleaners and employ them in the National Assembly, setting a monthly salary at 105,000 drams. Considering that most of the cleaners work 2-3 hours per day, the mentioned company will assign them to the National Assembly with a part-time salary.

In coordination with the staff of the National Assembly, this organization proposes to provide the cleaners with work in other companies for the remaining hours of the day, which may result in their monthly salary exceeding their current rate. The contract signed with "Cleaners" LLC is considered by the National Assembly's staff to be a more optimal option in terms of reducing state budget expenditures and conserving administrative resources.
