Armored Mercedes S-Class Serving Pashinyan Reportedly Has Engine Issues

The armored Mercedes S-Class serving Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reportedly has engine problems. In layman's terms, it is said that the "engine is burning oil," according to Hraparak.am.

He has been advised to purchase a new vehicle, but Pashinyan declined, stating that there is no need to spend excessive money on a car. As a result, he frequently uses another vehicle, particularly during regional visits when he is forced to navigate rough and poorly maintained roads. This alternative car is a BMW X5, which is an off-road model. However, it's said that this vehicle is also not in good condition and is quite old.

The government did not provide any comments regarding the vehicle's issues nor confirmed whether the BMW X5 is armored. However, we have received information indicating that it is indeed armored.

The media notes that armored vehicles often face engine problems because the weight significantly increases after armoring, which increases the load on the engine and leads to negative consequences.

Pashinyan is using the same armored Mercedes that was previously assigned to Serzh Sargsyan. The government has stated that Sargsyan has now been allocated a Toyota Camry with the state number plate 154 LL 50. However, as we have observed, Sargsyan appears to be using the Mercedes S-Class just like Pashinyan, rather than the government-issued Toyota Camry.
