The Head of the Kentron Community Went for Consultation
The situation remains tense in Freedom Square. Just moments ago, when the head of the Kentron community, Viktor Mnatsakanyan, headed towards the Jazzve café, he was already awaited there by Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) members Naira Zohrabyan and Arman Abovyan. They urged Mnatsakanyan not to use violence and to initiate a dialogue with the café owners, while also raising the issue of those detained by the police.
Viktor Mnatsakanyan assured that no violence was applied, stating that the police carried out their functions and if there was any violence, it was from the protesters' side. He then called on the lawmakers to step aside and speak separately, where the conversation was repeated. Mnatsakanyan again struggled to have a separate conversation with the lawmakers because the protesting crowd gathered around them once more.
It is noteworthy that Mnatsakanyan tried to present the violations committed by the dismantled cafés over the years, but the lawmakers interrupted the conversation, stating that the problem they were addressing was not the dismantling of the cafés, but the protection of people's rights. Mnatsakanyan explained that the police were forced to take certain actions as the protesters behaved very poorly, even resorting to insults.
It is worth mentioning that shortly before this, Mnatsakanyan requested about half an hour to discuss the situation with his colleagues at the municipality.
