Gyumri Resident Who Stabbed Russian Citizen Surrenders to Police
A resident of the 4th neighborhood of Antarabavan in Gyumri, 29-year-old Harutyun Sahakyan, has voluntarily surrendered to the Kumayri police department.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, he is suspected of inflicting bodily harm on 22-year-old Rajan Kazimirov, a citizen of the Russian Federation, during a conflict at the 'Ray' nightclub on Qandilyan Street in Gyumri on March 8.
Sources indicate that within the framework of the criminal case initiated by the Shirak Regional Investigative Department, the investigator has applied to the Shirak Regional Court of General Jurisdiction to issue a two-month detention order against him. The court conducted the session behind closed doors and subsequently approved the request, resulting in H. Sahakyan being remanded into custody. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
It should be noted that earlier reports indicated that a dispute leading to a stabbing had occurred in the Shirak region on March 8.
