Arsen Torosyan's Friend Accused of Committing Large-Scale Fraud

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated proceedings in the Tavush regional investigative department on January 16, 2019, based on a criminal case filed on January 8, 2019, at the Ijevan division of the Armenian police under part 2, clauses 1.1 and 2 of Article 178 of the Criminal Code.

According to Tert.am, preliminary information indicates that a resident of Ijevan reported to the Ijevan police that the former director of Ijevan Medical Center LLC demanded and received $3,000 from him in the summer of 2015 to secure employment at the mentioned medical center but failed to fulfill the promise, thus embezzling the money.

As a result of urgent investigative, procedural, and other actions, several circumstances of the case have been clarified. Charges have been brought against the former director of Ijevan Medical Center LLC under Article 178 of the Criminal Code, part 2, clauses 1.1 and 2.

As a measure of restraint, he has been placed under an obligation not to leave. The damage caused to the citizen has been fully compensated.

It is noteworthy that in 2015, the director of the Ijevan Medical Center was Narek Vanesyan, who was later appointed as the director of the Nubarashen Psychiatric Hospital. However, after an incident at the Medical University, he submitted his resignation to Health Minister Arsen Torosyan, who is a close friend.
