A Soldier Arrested in Connection with the Death of a Deceased Serviceman

On March 12, 2019, at approximately 06:50, a conscript soldier, Private Karen Artak Karapetyan, sustained fatal gunshot wounds at a combat position in the N military unit's security section. Following this incident, a criminal case was opened under Part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia in the third garrison investigative department, and an investigation is underway.

This information was provided to Armenian Time by Naira Harutyunyan, head of the information and public relations department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. She informed that a soldier has been arrested in connection with the death of Karen Artak Karapetyan.

Necessary investigative and procedural actions are currently being undertaken to ensure a comprehensive, complete, and objective examination of the case.
