11 Newborns Die in Tunisia, Health Minister Resigns
In the capital of Tunisia, 11 newborns have died, reports BBC News.
According to the Tunisian Ministry of Health, the children died from septic shock.
In a Facebook group for Tunisian pediatricians, it is suggested that the deaths of the newborns may have been triggered by an infection that entered their bodies due to intravenous injections.
The country's Prime Minister has announced that an investigation is underway into the deaths of the newborns, and the hospital is being checked for medical, pharmaceutical, and hygienic compliance.
It is noted that the Minister of Health has resigned just four months after taking office.
