Threatened to Publish Nude Photos of Girl and Demand Money Regularly

A resident of Ashtarak has been accused of blackmailing a girl with whom he had sexual relations and demanding money. According to Factinfo, the act occurred when the boy was a minor.

According to the preliminary investigation, the boy, born in 2000, met a resident of Abovyan City via the Facebook social media platform during 2016, and their communication continued online for a long time.

In February 2018, they went together to the 'Adam' hotel complex in the Jrvazh district, where they mutually agreed to have sexual relations. During their stay at the hotel, the boy took naked and hugging photos of the girl with her mobile phone, then sent the photos to his Instagram page and kept them on his device. One month later, in March 2018, the minor began to blackmail the girl. With the threat of publishing intimate photos, the boy initially demanded 20,000 AMD, which the girl transferred to him.

One month later, in April 2018, the boy again demanded money, this time 10,000 AMD. After that, on June 11, 2018, with the threat of publishing the photos again, he demanded 30,000 AMD. On the agreed day, the girl handed him 20,000 AMD because she did not have the full amount, but this did not satisfy him, and he also took the girl's 'Sayomi' model mobile phone with the condition that he would return it after receiving the remaining demanded amount.

Eventually, the blackmail became known to law enforcement. A criminal case was initiated, and charges were brought against the minor.

During the court proceedings of the criminal case, the accused accepted the charges against him and requested the termination of the proceedings based on a clause of the amnesty decision. The victim also did not object.

According to Factinfo, the court decided to terminate the criminal proceedings under Article 182, part 1 of the RA Criminal Code and to cease criminal prosecution against the boy through the application of the act of amnesty. The previously selected security measure of being placed under supervision has been lifted.
