Police Investigate Gruesome Murder in Shirak Province

The police and investigators of Erebuni have uncovered a horrifying contracted murder that took place in the Shirak Province within the framework of a drug trafficking case.

Suspects Sarkis Farmanyan and Nare Nersisyan have been detained by the Erebuni police on suspicion of illegal possession and use of narcotics.

According to Shamshyan.com, the body of E. Gyulazyan, a resident of Spitak in Lori Province, was discovered on March 8, 2018, on the road from the village of Azatana to the village of Arevik. A forensic medical examination at that time indicated that he had died from acute poisoning by an exogenous substance, which included methamphetamine and cannabinoid-related narcalkaloids.

Erebuni police and investigators have determined that Ruben Sarkisyan, known as “Udi,” informed Sarkis Farmanyan, who is currently imprisoned under the nickname “Shak,” while serving his sentence in cell No. 36 of Nubarashen prison in March 2018, about the motivation to take revenge on a victim involved in a kidnapping case that was still in trial. This was orchestrated by injecting a large quantity of narcotics to create a drug overdose.

According to photographer's information, the operation was carried out by Nersisyan and Farmanyan.

After agreeing on the amount intended for ordering the murder, Farmanyan, with Sarkisyan's knowledge, established contact with Nersisyan through some means and received his consent to carry out the killing for money. In preliminary arrangements, Nersisyan traveled to Gyumri, where he met Gyulazyan in a hotel under as yet unclear circumstances, and injected him simultaneously with a large dose of narcotics into the front surfaces of both of Gyulazyan’s arm joints. Following that, Gyulazyan became helpless and unconscious at the 121st km of the highway from Azatana village to Arevik village in Shirak Province.

On March 8, at 8:00 AM, he was discovered, and while being transported to Gyumri Medical Center, he died from acute poisoning with exogenous substances in the ambulance. The photographer also reports that a search has been launched for Ruben Sarkisyan, a 45-year-old resident of Gyumri, previously convicted for committing a serious crime, who is charged under Part 2, Point 8 of Article 38-104 of the RA Criminal Code.
