Levon Ter-Petrosyan's Resignation Day as 'Day of Salvation for Artsakh': Ashotyan's Proposal
Every revolution that respects itself tries to establish its own revolutionary calendar. This was stated today to reporters by the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, referring to the initiative to declare the resignation day of Armenia's third president, Serzh Sargsyan, as Citizens' Day.
“In France, after the great revolution, a calendar was established where, for example, history began on September 22, 1792, when the republic was proclaimed. Each month was given revolutionary names, and every day of the year had its own name. This calendar was abolished by Napoleon when he became emperor,” said Ashotyan.
“I propose to designate Levon Ter-Petrosyan's resignation day as 'Day of Salvation for Artsakh',” he said, adding, “Of course, all of this would be ridiculous if it weren't so tragic. This shows the bankruptcy of state thinking.”
