Two Armenian Citizens Arrested in Turkey

Two Armenian citizens have been arrested in Turkey in connection with the murder of 58-year-old trader Vedat Yongel in Istanbul. The arrested individuals, Armen A. and Narik A., are suspected of assisting the alleged murderer, Stella M., and her son, Varlam M., who have fled Turkey.

According to reports from ermenihaber.am, it has been revealed during the interrogation that the suspects threw the weapon used in the murder into the sea.

It is recalled that Turkish media had previously reported that Armenian nationals were suspected in the murder case.

It was reported that on February 16, the trader Vedat Yongel took $10,000 from his home in the Kagithane district of Istanbul and left. After some time without news from their father, Vedat's sons, Serdar and Sedat Yongel, contacted the police.

The Yongel brothers informed the police that they had suspicions about 46-year-old Armenian citizen Stella M., who frequently visited their home for cleaning.

Investigating the case, Istanbul police discovered that Stella, an Armenian citizen, and her 28-year-old son Varlam M. had flown to Kars two days after Vedat Yongel went missing, and then traveled to Armenia via Georgia.

On February 19, Varlam M. sent a letter to the Yongel family stating, "Your father is at our home, go take him," and indicated Vedat's location.

According to the source, police units found Vedat Yongel's body at the address sent by Varlam.
