Fire Erupts in Grassland Area Leading to Georgia's Border, Emergency Services Respond
On February 25, at 18:14, the "911" service received a report of a fire erupting in the area leading from the village of Privolnoye in Lori Province towards the Georgia border. Rescue services were called for assistance.
A firefighting unit and an operational group from the regional rescue department were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that the fire had spread towards forested areas, burning approximately 200 hectares of grassland, including about 35 hectares of forested area.
The firefighting efforts involve 35 rescuers, 25 local residents, and 10 employees from the "Hayantar" State Non-Commercial Organization's "Tashir Forestry" division. Information regarding the incident has been communicated to the head of the operational shift of the Emergency Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
