VIDEO: Doctor Imprisoned in Russia is Now Free
“I want to thank everyone who participated in the petition, which has allowed me to be free today. The conditions were quite difficult, but there are still challenges ahead. We have a fight in the courts, and I am confident that justice is on my side. I can sign for every step I’ve taken,”
This was stated in a video message by Gevorg Stepanyan, a doctor imprisoned in Russia, whose pretrial restriction was replaced by a signed statement promising not to leave. He has been released for a few days now.
“Believe me, it is quite difficult to achieve justice in Russia, and it cannot be done with just one force. A lot of effort has been put in for my release, so I can continue my fight in freedom.
I am more than convinced that justice is on my side; I don’t use this word lightly. I know every step I have taken, I know what I have done, I know how I have done it, and I can sign for every step I’ve made. Today, we are missing a few things – the answer from the forensic examination, which will come soon, and when it is ready, it will be clear where the blame lies. I am more than convinced that I am innocent,” he declared.
