Venezuelan Opposition Leader Guaidó Issues First Decree

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó has issued his first decree as interim president, which is to open the land border with Brazil.

He announced the presidential decree on his Twitter page.

In the same decree, Guaidó has annulled the current president Nicolás Maduro's order to close the land border with Brazil, while leaving unchanged the relationships with Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, which Maduro was also supposed to reconsider.

Additionally, the opposition leader has confirmed guarantees for military personnel who have joined his government.

It is important to note that earlier, Maduro had announced the closure of the land border with Brazil. He did not rule out that similar measures could also be taken concerning Colombia.
